| | | | If there was a league table for business mantras then surely “cash is king” would be number 1.
So why then is credit offered? The reality is that if every transaction was cash on delivery (COD) very little business would take place.
Extending credit is a critical business enabler and used properly, can enhance your business.
A typical symptom of it going wrong is a debt collection problem. This needs to be dealt with, but of more long-term importance is dealing with cause—typically, poor decisions around who should be given credit in the first place, for what term and critically, ineffective monitoring of the amount and term. A sale done on credit which is subsequently not cashed-in is a COST and NOT A SALE.
Let us, at Crawley & Porter, review your CREDIT CONTROL processes and help you make it more fit for purpose, particularly in the current economic climate. Don’t damage your business by cutting off credit that WILL turn into cash. We will review your processes and procedures. Our focus will be on enhancement opportunities and ways of dealing with problem accounts.
In addition, in the Stock Control area we can assist in optimising stock levels and stock operating systems. |
